Mental Deficiency New Video

Those darlings over at Belfast’s Mental Deficiency have only gone and released a new video and, as to be expected, it’s sure to raise a few eyebrows!
The band, hot from a steaming set supporting Alestorm in Belfast’s Speakeasy have released equally steamy video for single, ‘Introduction To Seduction’. Video director, Kevin McKeown had this to say -
“I knew Mental Deficiency before they were Mental Deficiency, but not before they were mentally deficient. We shared a passion for filmmaking and the guys were instrumental in helping me through some of my earliest attempts in the discipline. Upon hearing that they had formed a band I was thoroughly nonplussed, but when I finally saw them I was drawn to their irreverent attitude, energetic stage show and chiselled, athletic physiques. Like most people in the audience, I wanted to see them naked. This video was my way of getting them naked. You are welcome.”

“When Kev came to us with the concept for the video we knew we definitely wanted to do it. We’ve recently been taking inspiration from cigarette manufacturers, alcohol companies and religion with their philosophy of, ’get ‘em while they’re young.’ After watching some children’s television and the music channels pre-watershed we discovered that popular acts such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Britney Spears are completely free to flaunt their bodies and sexuality in their music videos and lyrics. In our quest to create life-long Mental Deficiency fans we decided that emulating the pop stars of today was the right direction to take. Hopefully, children’s television across the world will soon be broadcasting us shaking our behinds just like today’s biggest pop acts.
